About Us

A Church Rooted in Scripture, Built on Community

Mitchell Evangelical Free Church began as a small Bible study in a garage right here in Mitchell. Over the years, that small group grew into a vibrant church family and in 1991, we officially joined the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA).

We hold God’s Word as our foundation. Clear, faithful Bible teaching shapes everything we do from Sunday sermons to small groups and everyday life. We are a member-driven church, meaning we believe every follower of Christ is called and equipped to serve, lead, and live out their faith in the world.

More than anything, we are a church family. We worship together, serve together, and care for one another throughout the week. Whether you’ve never been to church, you’re returning after some time away, or you’ve been walking with Jesus for years, there’s a place for you here.

We’d love to welcome you into the life of our church.

Our Mission & Vision

The Mitchell Evangelical Free Church exists to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord in Matthew 28:18-20 through supporting world and home mission ministry through prayer, encouragement, and financial support.  We see the support of worldwide missions as part and parcel of our responsibility as a Church to fulfill the Great Commission beginning in our own community and then in the rest of the world.

Grow in Christ

We grow through faithful teaching, prayer, and daily obedience to God’s Word.

Love One Another

We’re a spiritual family that encourages, serves, and walks through life together.

Live on Mission

We’re called to make disciples at home, in our community, and around the world.

What We Believe

We’re a Bible-teaching church committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ, the authority of Scripture, and the hope of salvation by grace through faith. We’re part of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), and we hold to its Statement of Faith.
